What is Ask for Angela?

Ask for Angela is a discreet way to ask for support if you need it for any reason. By asking for “Angela”, you can let staff know quickly, quietly and without fuss that you need help.

If you ask for Angela, trained staff will respond calmly and appropriately, taking your lead.

Because everyone deserves to feel safe.

How it works

Ask for “Angela” at a participating venue or organisation
Staff recognise it as a request for help
Support is provided discreetly, in the way you want it. This may be help to leave, being supported to stay, contacting security or escalating where needed

Why it matters

Ask for Angela CIC is a registered UK Community Interest Company (Company No. 14628295), operating on a not-for-profit basis since January 2023 and in partnership with Best Bar None, National Pubwatch and Purple Flag.

The CIC provides the National Venue Pledge, the Ask for Angela Venue Map, safety training materials and free resources for licensed premises, festivals and public spaces, working with partners such as JD Wetherspoon, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Merseyside Police, Drinks United, Unite Students and the Federation of Small Businesses.
