Ask for Angela Ambassadors

Andrew “Bernie” Bernard has worked with young people in schools for the past twenty years, firstly delivering enterprise, careers and business workshops and, in the past 10 years since the death of his sister at the hands of her violent and controlling partner, Bernie has spoken about domestic abuse, coercive control, misogyny and old-style, dominance-based masculinities. He’s worked with over 165,000 young people, teachers, youth workers, sports teams and employees.

Bernie has written a careers book for educators called ‘The Ladder’ for Crown House and is presently finishing off ‘Boys to Men: What Needs To Change’ for schools and parents to help them unpick unhelpful and misogynistic masculinities in young men and work towards more empathetic, caring and equality-driven men.

Ask for Angela is a safeguarding scheme that is complementary to Bernie’s work in schools and businesses as he works to make a positive impact against Gender Based Violence.
